Identity Crisis

A few weeks ago I discovered an ECW Parliamentarian dismounted general in a batch of figures I had thought were all S Range.

For the last 9 months or so I have been wearing a knee length plastic aircast boot on my left foot because of a condition called Charcot's Foot. This has always sounded like it should be an ECW regiment so in celebration of starting to gradually getting out of the cast and back to shoes over the next four weeks or so, I decided to paint up my (very small) total of Hinton Hunt ECW figures - four Parliamentarian dragoons, three Parliamentarian and one Royalist musketeers, and three gunners with one master gunner.

A flying visit by Tony led to the suggestion that the general might also provide a potential command figure for my massed Spanish guerrillas, so here he is in both contexts. What do you think?

English Civil War range

The English Civil War range is a nicley balanced group of 33 foot figures and 7 mounted. The foot include gunners (usable for either side), Scots musketeers, and generals on foot, pikemen, musketeers, dragoons and command figures for both Roundhead and Cavaliers.

Pikemen were supplied with separate pikes.

The original catalogue states:

During the Civil War dragoons did most of their fighting on foot, using their horses only as a means of transport and dismounting for battle, where they acted as skirmishers armed with short muskets; only occasionally did they fight mounted as cavalry.
