Crimean War Units: Russian Infantry

Specially for John, here are two units of Hinton Hunt Crimean Russian infantry who could not be used as Napoleonic units.

I thought I had already posted pictures of these units - I remember taking the photos - but I can't find them anywhere.

Of course the timewarp works both ways and I expect my Napoleonic Russians in hat and greatcoats (the Der Krigspielers posted below) to appear in the Crimean ranks in return.

Colonial and Crimean "Figures received" pictures from Miniature Warfare

The pictures here are of Crimean War figures and Colonial subjects (a British Colonial infantryman has crept into the top row of Crimean figures).

A most perplexing mystery

Another product of today's visit was these two figures. Although at first sight I thought they were British Napoleonic light infantry, on closer inspection the shako looks like an Albert to me - it has a rear peak and a central ball.
The question is - what were these figures for? Are they figure dolls awaiting animation and basing to form new figures in the Crimean Range? Are they perhaps unused figures for foot artillery gunners? They are very crisp castings which look like the first batch out of the mould. Any information would be gladly received (by comments or otherwise).

Crimean War Range

Hinton Hunt produced a small Crimean War range, of eight Russian infantry (in soft caps and spiked helmets), fifteen British infantry (Line, Guards and Highlanders), and a single cavalry figure, a British Lancer.

For artillery figures and equipment, futher cavalry and infantry an option would have been the Douglas Miniatures Crimean War, which can be seen on the Old Metal Detector blog.
