Russian National Contingent reinforcements

A bit of lateral thinking means that these Hinton Hunt Crimean Russian infantry in greatcoat and cap (RC 14 and RC 15) will now do double duty and serve as a reinforcement battalion to my Napoleonic Russian contingent. The officer, as with the Der Kriegspieler unit posted below, is a David Clayton conversion figure.

My Russian contingent is awaiting the painting of a second Der Kriegspieler Line battalion (the figures in the first photo here), a further battalion of Pavlov Grenadiers, and squadrons of Der Kriegspieler hussars and cossacks.

Now this really is too bad. It's hard enough trying to collect vintage Crimean figures as it is without Napoleonic Buffs taking them as "conversions".

I ignore the fact that I have lancers and cossacks in my own Crimean army which would be more comfortable in 1812. That's different.

The original HH Crimean Russian in greatcoat with soft cap has a small pouch on his left hand crossbelt. It is for the percussion caps for his musket. Strictly this pouch should be removed if the figures are to be used for Napoleonivc rRussians. has this vital piece of surgery been performed???

Na. They'll be mostly Crimean still, just thought I could draft them in to help out if I needed a few more Napoleonic Russians. The Der Kriegspielers may well help with this - somme cossacks and hussars to go
