Royal Marines

I have always had a soft spot for Napoleonic Royal Marines - down to Hornblower I guess - and this extends to the small Hinton Hunt range, codes BN 111 and 114 to 117.

I have also long harboured the idea that they would make good turn of the century line troops for Flanders and for India. For some reason it has always seemed near impossible to design figures which matched or complemented Hinton Hunts (unless you went down such a heavily "tribute" route that it bordered on piracy).

The second two pictures here show the Marines in this Indian context, with some privately commissioned figures of Madras and Bengal sepoys, with whom they seem to blend well.
